Pop Up Book Directions

Materials

8-1/2 x 11 inch white paper...one per page
9 x 12 inch construction paper...one per page
Cover: 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 inch construction paper...one
scissors
glue

1. Draw or print a background picture on an 8&endash;1/2 x 11 inch paper. Some graphics downloaded from the internet make good backgrounds.

2. Write the title of the page in large letters.

3. Fold the paper in half.

4. Decide where you want the pop up picture to go. Cut a notch in the paper.

5. Fold the notch inside out.

6. Glue the 8-1/2 x 11 inch paper onto the construction paper.

7. Glue the small pop up picture on to the cut-out notch. Be careful with the glue.

8. Write or glue on the essay.

9. Glue the individual pages of the book together.

10. Fold the 9-1/2 x 12-1/2 inch construction paper over the pages. This is the cover. Make sure the cover has:

Author (YOU!)

Decoration / illustration / picture
