Choir

Willard Middle School Choir is a
performing group that includes about 130 7th and 8th grade students. It
is an all-year class that has a requirement of 4 performances each
year. There are two concerts (December and May), a musical, and
contest, which includes a trip to Silver Dollar City!
In addition, 8th graders have the opportunity to audition for a smaller
choir (approx. 40 students) called Tiger
Tones!!! Auditions are held in the spring for incoming 8th
graders. Tiger Tones perform more often in the community and for the
school (1-2 performances per month), and will participate in all
performances with the big choir.
Conservation
Club

Members will be responsible for managing the WMS
Recycling Effort this school year as well as starting some school
conservation projects, such as building and maintaining WMS's own rain
barrels, making recycled paper, and designing reusable bags.
The Conservation Club will meet twice a month after school to work on
projects and will be asked to help collect recycled items during
advisory twice a month. The Club will be sponsored by the WMS Science
Department.
Cook
and Create Club

Cook
& Create Club gives you a hands-on opportunity to learn how to make
some seasonal foods and crafts. You do not have to "join" to
participate in any of the activities, but will need to sign-up before
each session so we will have enough supplies to complete the projects.
The club requires no money and will meed right after school on
Wednesdays until 4:30pm, about once every-other month. See Mrs.
Robinson for further details.
Drama Club

This club meets weekly and is for all students
interested in
theatre, acting, making new friends, or just having fun! We meet every
Thursday after school in the Black Box Theatre where we play games,
learn acting skills, and let kids ACT up! Drama Club performs two
productions every year which any Drama Club member can audition for or
help as a crew member on. We also attend theatre workshops, go to area
plays, do fund raisers, and have an Awards Banquet at the end of the

FCA
(Fellowship of Christian Athletes) - WMS Chapter will be open to all
students this year. We will meet on Thursday mornings at 7am for a
motivational message and some student socialization! FCA is sponsored
by Mrs. Paulsell, Mrs. Coffer, and Mr. Homan.
Girls
Night Out/ Men In Training

Girls Night Out
Girls in the 7th and 8th grades are invited to a special quarterly
event sponsored by the women faculty members of WMS. Each girl is
encouraged to bring her mom, grandma, favorite aunt or any other adult
female companion for a night of fun exclusively for girls. Programs
include a cookout and pumpkin decorating, holiday crafts, self defense
class, cake decorating, and Summer Fun: spa and fashion night. All
activities are free of charge for Willard Middle School students and
their adult guests.
MIT: Men In Training
Boys in the 7th and 8th grades are invited to a special quarterly event
sponsored by the men faculty members of WMS. Each boy is encouraged to
bring his dad, grandfather, favority uncle or any other adult male
companion for a night of fun exclusively for the guys. Programs include
dodgeball, basketball, football on the big screen, and a chili supper
and more. All activities are free of charge for Willard Middle School
students and their adult guests.
Middle School
Band

The Instrumental Music Program
begins at the
beginning of 6th grade and continues on into Middle School. Students
learn basic fundamentals of music as it relates to band instruments.
Students learn both bass and treble clefs, note naming, counting,
symbols, and terminology, etc. During December, instrument
presentations are made to the students and they will begin their
instrument upon returning from Christmas Break.
NJHS:
National
Junior Honors Society

This is an honor roll for students with GPA's of
3.75
or higher. Students do community service and fun activities such as
bowling, ice skating @ Jordan Valley, barn swings, etc. This is
definately something all WMS students should strive to be part of!!
OHHS Club:
Operation Hometown Hero Supporters Club

The OHHS meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of
each month and
promotes
patriotism in our school, hosts guest speakers, visits veterans, helps
plan the WMS Veteran's Day Program,
plans and organizes the Annual Support Our Troops Rally, and supports
our troops with other
various activities.
We also participate in the annual WMS Growl Nite with a pie-in-the-face
booth. Proceeds from our booth go to constructing soldiers care
packages and Camp Hope, a hunting retreat for wounded veteran's in our
area!
Meeting times are 2:30-4pm in Mrs.
Feldman's room.
Peer
Ambassadors
Mrs. Marsha Crotts, Sponsor
Chosen as 6th graders, Peer Ambassadors are trained
to help the student body by the Conflict Mediation Process to help
resolve conflicts. They help new students get oriented to a new school.
They also sponsor an annual dance and are involved in other service
activities.
This group is not open to new members.
Spanish
Club

Spanish club
meets periodically throughout the school year. We eat Spanish
foods, make crafts like cascarones, watch videos, and study in "salsa
sessions". It is open to 8th graders enrolled in Spanish I at WMS.

We train with our computer and
buzzer system by answering questions in science, math,
geography/history, language arts, and fine arts. We attended our
second competitive tournament where we took 2nd place. Academic Bowl
meets every Tuesday after school. It is open to all 7th and 8th graders!
WMS
Yearbook

This class is held during 5th hour period and is not
an open elective class. Students must apply for the class in the spring
when applicatications are being accepted. Yearbook class needs highly
dedicated, hard working students that can meet deadlines and achieve
frequent goals. Students will not only work on creating the WMS
yearbook, but also create the school activity calendar, newsletters,
and WMS Newspaper!
2007-2008 yearbook is no longer on sale. Remember to purchase your
2008-2009 during summer registration where they will be offered at a
discounted price! Yearbooks will also be for sale at the discounted
price throughout 1st semester! See Mrs. Loveland for details! Watch for
information and order forms!!!
