Acting II Syllabus

Goals:

 This advanced acting course will allow 8th grade actors more performance experience and training. We will explore a variety of genres including   children’s theatre, storytelling, and Elizabethan. Especially designed for those interested in taking theatre or technical theatre in high school.

Grades will be based on:

· Participation

· Preparation

· Performances

           - Teacher evaluations

           - Self-evaluations

           - Peer evaluations

· Homework

· Assignments

· Group work and effort

Expectations:

**Bring your paper, Pencil, and a Highlighter everyday!

· Participate 100%

· Be prepared!

· Don’t lose your scripts or you’ll have to rewrite them by hand!

· Class members are              encouraged to join Drama Club

· You are required to audition for one show for a grade (either Fall or Spring Drama Club show).  You do not have to be in the show.      Auditions will be held in class.

Extra Credit is available for any  student who is a cast or crew    member for any show.  Any other    extra credit opportunities will be given in class as they are available.
