7TH GRADE WORLD GEOGRAPHY
Students will compare and contrast
Mexico to their own country as they view video clips and fill out a
graphic organizer.
Students will be able to compare Mexico's urban and rural life as they
take notes and discuss pages 190-194 in the text book.
Students will make inferences to Mexico's customs as they work with a
partner solving and creating "What Am I" puzzles.

GEOGRAPHY
Students will watch video clips
and be able to explain why the damage from an eathquake can be so
extensive in Mexico City.
Students will come up with a plan to help prevent damage in Mexico City.
Students will discuss the active volcano, Popocatepetl, located in
Mexico and enjoy learning about its folk tale legends of how it was
created.
Students will read page 159 in text book and be able to explain the
cause and effect of El Nino. Students will be able to justify how
Indonesia could be affected by El Nino.

7TH GRADE WORLD GEOGRAPHY
Students will focus on
Mexico's history and people with video clips - Mayans,
Aztecs, Olmecs, and Toltecs as they rate their contributions to
society from most important to least important.

Friday
|
7TH GRADE WORLD
GEOGRAPHY
Students will use video clips as
they complete the handout of the 4 periods of Mexico's history.
Students will be able to explain how Cortez and his few conquistatdores
defeated armies of Aztecs as students read and discuss
pages 174- 175 in their text books.
