Where was I born?
I was born in Rockford, IL. I lived on a dairy farm in a rural
community with my mom, dad and sixth brothers. My family moved to
a dairy farm near Purdy, Missouri when I was 13 years old.

Where did I go to school?
I attended a small school in Durand Il for grades 1 through 7.
When we moved I attended and graduated from Purdy RII School District.
I then went to MSU where I received my BS in Elementary Education in
1983 and my Masters Degree in 1985.

Where was your first job?
My first job was on the farm doing all kinds of chores! I was
hired as a waitress when I was 16 years old and worked my way through
college. My first teaching job was in El Dorado Springs Missouri
where I taught 5th grade for 2 years. I moved to a 6th grade
position with the Willard R2 School District in 1985.

Why do I love
teaching?
I love teaching because I love to be with kids. I sometimes feel
guilty being paid for teaching because the only thing I don't like
about it is having to get up in the morning! My favorite
thing about teaching is watching a student begin to understand a
concept and then get it.

What
are my
hobbies?
I love to be outside. Everything from outside sports to
gardening. If I am inside I enjoy reading and cooking, mostly
baking.

How about my family?
I am married to a wonderful man and have 3 children. Ted and I
were married in 1985. Nikki joined our family in 1988 (she would be the
one that ate a stack of math tests.) She is currently attending
SBU in Boliver. Katie is a senior at Willard High and Bradley is
a freshman. My classes will hear many stories about them in class!
