Acting Syllabus

Goals:

 To introduce students to acting and give them opportunities to practice, perform, and develop both communication and performance skills.

 

Expectations:

· Bring your scripts, paper, and a

     PENCIL everyday!

· Be prepared!

· Do your best!

· Stay positive!

Acting Units:

· Theatre Terminology

· Memorization

· Voice

· Movement

· Characterization

· Theatre History

· Monologues

· Duet Scenes

· Ensemble Scenes

· Auditioning Skills

· Improvisation

· Acting for Film

Grades will be based on:

· Participation

· Preparation

· Performances

           - Self-evaluations

           - Teacher evaluations

           - Peer evaluations

· Homework

· Projects

· Tests

 

Extra Credit:

Extra Credit can be earned for    doing any the following either at school, community theatre, or church.  An extra credit form must be completed and approved for credit to be given.

· Auditioning for any part in a show

· Acting in any role

· Crew member for any show

· Join Drama Club at school

· Attending club events and      activities

· Volunteering for production on a show (painting, building, etc.)

· Attending a live play (with written evaluation)

· Reading a play script (with written evaluation)

· Participating in school talent show or other performances

· Perfect attendance in acting class

· ...Other activities are accepted at teachers discretion
