LANGUAGE ASSIGNMENT

Sept. 5th-9th

Monday
- NO SCHOOL

TuesdayStudents come in and complete two of the daily language forms.  Grammar lesson:  Identifying compound sentences, run-on sentences, and sentence fragments.  Spelling homework will be passed out and due on Friday.  New spelling words and pretest will be given.

Wednesday
Students come in and complete a daily language form.  Writing lesson:  Using quality verbs.  Students will write a page in their comp. books and focus on using quality verbs. 

Thursday -
Students come in and complete a daily language form.  Students will write in their comp. books and focus on using precise nouns.

Friday -   Students will take a short DLR quiz and their spelling test.  Students will write in their comp. books and focus on using choice adjectives.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Sept. 5th-9th
MondayNO SCHOOL

Tuesday -
10 minutes of SSRStudents will define the word "elegant" in their vocabulary notebooks.  Students will learn the elements of "plot".  They will create a "starecase" graphic organizer on the plot of  a picture book.

Wednesday - 10 minutes of SSR
Students will define the word "abduct" in their vocabulary notebooks.  We will continue working on plot with a picture book.

Thursday
10 minutes of SSRStudents will take a quiz over the ten vocabulary words that we have defined in the last week.  We will go to the library to check out books.

FridayStudents will complete a form where they tell about their self-selected book.
Students will define a word  in their vocabulary notebook. Students will focus on the elements of  "setting".

           Sept.  5- NO SCHOOL
                   15- First MS home game
